Instructions

Step 1/3

Prepare the Rice

  • 50g White Rice, Uncooked
  • 120mL Chicken Broth

Rinse the rice under cold water. In a small pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Add the rice, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15-18 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes.

Step 2/3

Cook the Ground Turkey

  • 1 tsp Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Small Onion
  • 1/2 Red Bell Pepper
  • 1 Garlic Clove
  • 150g Ground Turkey
  • 1/4 tsp Paprika
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 1/4 tsp Chili Powder

While the rice is cooking, heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute. Add the ground turkey to the skillet and stir in the paprika, cumin, chili powder, black pepper, and salt to taste. Cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until it’s no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 3/3

Combine and Serve

Fluff the rice with a fork and add it to the skillet with the ground turkey mixture. Stir well to combine and heat through for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro if desired.
