Instructions

Step 1/3

Prepare the Rice

  • 50g White Rice, Uncooked
  • 120mL Chicken Broth

Rinse the rice under cold water. In a small pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil. Add the rice, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15-18 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed. Remove from heat and let it sit covered for an additional 5 minutes.

Step 2/3

Cook the Ground Turkey

  • 1 tsp Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Small Onion
  • 1/2 Red Bell Pepper
  • 1 Garlic Clove
  • 150g Ground Turkey
  • 1/4 tsp Paprika
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Cumin
  • 1/4 tsp Chili Powder

While the rice is cooking, heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the finely diced onion and bell pepper. Sauté until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute. Increase the heat a bit and add the ground turkey to the pan, stir in the paprika, cumin, chili powder, black pepper, and salt to taste. Cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until it’s no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.

Step 3/3

Combine and Serve

Fluff the rice with a fork and add it to the pan with the ground turkey mixture. Stir well to combine and heat through for 2-3 minutes. Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro if desired.
