1. General Information

The Athleats application (hereinafter "App") and the Athleats web services (the "Services") are provided by Athleats LLC (hereinafter "We" or "Us").

Each time you use this App on your mobile device or visit our website, data is collected, processed, and used. Unless otherwise stated, the following information applies to both the use of the website and the use of the App. Protecting your privacy—especially regarding your performance and nutritional data—is important to us. Therefore, we would like to inform you which of your personal data is collected when you use our Services and how this data is handled.

You can access this Privacy Policy at any time on our website at: https://www.weareathleats.com/privacy-policy

Our website and App use SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of personal data and other confidential content (e.g., your nutritional preferences, meal plans, or inquiries to the data controller). You can recognize an encrypted connection in your browser by the "https://" prefix and the padlock icon in the address bar.

Your personal data is transmitted by us only in encrypted form. Furthermore, we have implemented state-of-the-art technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, alteration, or dissemination. We regularly review these security measures and adapt them to technological advancements as necessary.

2. Log Files and Access Data

To ensure the Athleats website and App operate reliably, securely, and are technically optimized for your performance needs, we process what is known as "access data." This data collection allows us to effectively deliver our content to you, identify technical errors, and prevent unauthorized access.

When you use our Services, we collect and store the following information in log files:

  • Operating system used (e.g., iOS version)
  • Amount of data sent
  • Time of App installation
  • Date and time of access to the App or Website
  • IP address (anonymized/processed for security and optimization)

This data is processed in a way that does not allow for your direct personal identification. Log data is stored for technical security purposes and is regularly deleted—typically within 28 days.

The legal basis for this data processing is our legitimate interest (pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR) in providing a secure, stable, and high-performance platform for our users.

3. User Registration and Profile Management

To access the full performance-driven suite of Athleats—including meal planning, macro tracking, and grocery list generation—users must register for an account.

3.1 Registration and Account Management

You can create a user account by providing your email address and a password. This data is stored securely via Supabase and is required to:

  • Set up and manage your personalized profile.
  • Sync your saved recipes and meal plans across your iOS devices.
  • Respond to your support requests or feedback.
  • Send you essential service-related emails regarding your account features and subscription status.

The legal basis for this processing is the fulfillment of our contract with you (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR).

3.2 Personalizing Your Profile

Athleats allows you to personalize your profile for a more tailored experience. You may choose a username and upload a profile picture.

  • Privacy: Your profile picture and username are used for your personal account view only. They are not visible to other users of the Services.
  • Optionality: Providing a profile picture is entirely optional and is not required to use the Services.

3.3 Device Permissions

To provide the intended experience, the Athleats App may request access to specific functions on your iOS device:

  • Camera & Photo Library: To allow you to take or select a photo for your private profile picture.

You can grant or deny these permissions at any time via your iOS Settings. We follow the principle of data minimization and only request access to functions necessary for the features you choose to use.

4. Application Improvement and Technical Stability

To provide a seamless, high-performance experience, we use specialized services to monitor the stability of the Athleats App and manage our content.

4.1 Supabase (Backend & Infrastructure)

The Athleats App utilizes Supabase (https://supabase.com/) to manage our database, user authentication, and real-time performance monitoring.

  • Purpose: Supabase acts as the "engine" of the App, storing your meal plans, saved recipes, and nutritional preferences securely. It also provides us with logs to identify performance issues.
  • Data Handling: Data is processed and stored securely. Supabase provides robust data protection measures and allows us to ensure your performance data is available across your devices whenever you need it.

5. Social Media

We maintain online presences within social networks to communicate with users and provide information about Athleats. When you visit our website, no direct connection is established between your browser and the servers of the respective social networks. Data is only transferred after you consent by clicking on relevant privacy settings or social links. For a detailed description of processing methods and objection options, please refer to the privacy policies of the respective social network operators.

6. Data Security

We implement a variety of technical and organizational security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. All sensitive data (such as account credentials and meal plan data) is transmitted via SSL technology and encrypted in our database via our infrastructure partners.

However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

7. International Users
